Beat Bullying Conference
At the Beat Bullying Conference lots of primary school children took part in workshops and presentations. Some made music and songs and others learned to sign a song in a British sign language workshop. We went to the conference as part of our BTEC Media course and it was our job to tell the story of the day with pictures and films.
I decided to put this page in as a hidden page because the home page was getting to full of page buttons. Long lists can make websites boring to use so I decided to make a link so that only people who were interested would navigate to this area.
I used the two column layout to divide the text from the images. I took the embed code from Flickr and changed the pixel sizes so that the images are the most important thing on the page.

As well as making a photo slideshow i also made a film. We planned to work in groups and shared the footage of the day when we captured it back at school. We built the film around a song called, 'Something Inside So Strong'.
I included lots of still images in the film to try and help tell the story of the day. It was very hard, as a deaf person, to use the sound from the footage, so I decided to concentrate on the visual part of the day and use the song to get the message across.
To get the film on the website I had to make a smaller (or compressed) version of the film so that i could upload it onto youtube. Ithen used the embed code to add it to this site. I changed the size so that it lines up with the slideshow above. I also used a divider to help the page look better.
